発音とビート Pronunciation and the Beat (rhythm)

• In Japanese, each hiragana or katakana is one beat.

日本語ではひらがなやカタカナ一文字につき１ビートです。

• In English, each vowel sound (a e i o u) is one beat.

英語では一母音につき１ビートです。

• The Big Problem:　問題点

• Hiragana and katakana can only have one consonant for each vowel.

ひらがなやカタカナは一母音につき一子音しかありません。

• But English can have 2 consonants for a vowel (sometimes even 4).

一方英語では一母音につき２子音、時には４子音のこともあります。

• So, if you speak “Katakana-English,” your words have many extra beats!

従って、カタカナ英語を話せば、それだけ多くのビートを生み出すことになります。

• Steak ea = 1 beat

• ステーキ = 3 beats (su-te-ki)

発音と韻 Pronunciation and Rhyme

• In Japanese, if the last two hiragana are the same, you have a rhyme.

日本語では、最後の２文字が同じであれば韻を踏むことになります。

• くるま (kuruma)

• だるま (daruma)

• ノルマ (noruma)

• In English, if the last vowel and consonants are the same, you have a rhyme.

英語では最後の母音や子音が同じであれば韻を踏むことになります。

• Rhyme in English is very complicated.

• Sometimes you can make a rhyme if the sounds are close enough.

似たような音であれば、韻を踏ませることもできます。

• Spelling can be confusing! Pain and Pane sound the same!

綴りは混乱を招きます。painと paneは（綴りが異なっても）全く同じ発音です。

ラップの作り方 How to Make a Rap

• Choose the beat.　ビートを決めましょう

• Choose the number of beats for one line.

一行あたりのビート数を決めましょう。

• Make all the lines match this beat.

そのビートに合わせて全ての行を作りましょう。

• Hint: you can say a word extra fast or slow to take more or fewer beats.

ヒント：ビートを多くしたり、逆に少なくするために、ある語を思い切り短く、またはゆっくり言うこともできます。

• Make the rhymes.　韻を作りましょう。

• Choose some good words that rhyme to put at the end of the lines.

行の終わりに来る語は韻を踏むものを選びましょう。

• Hint: don’t make all the lines match. Just make pairs of lines!

全ての行に韻を踏ませる必要はありません。韻を踏む組がいくつかあればいいです。

• Choose the words. 歌詞を決めましょう。

• Rap is all about words. Strong rap has to have strong words!

• Use short, powerful words.

• Use a lot of slang.

• End with words like: Yo! Word up!

• Make it cool and hip like 50 cent:
