A message from the Minister of Energy and Resource Development

We are fortunate to live in a province with such rich natural resources, including our forests, waterways and wildlife. Hunting and trapping is a tradition for many. Being an avid outdoorsman, and now as Minister of Energy and Resource Development, I appreciate the efforts of the department to effectively promote our forests and wildlife in a responsible and sustainable manner. Conservation is very important when it comes to the promotion of our natural resources. Safety is also paramount, as well as respecting the environment. Thank you to the countless volunteer instructors who teach Firearms Safety/ Hunter Education, Bowhunter Education and Trapper Education. This guide contains information about the hunting and trapping season dates, bag limits and hunting areas. It also includes licensing and land access information and a summary of wildlife regulations. This publication is a valuable resource that will answer many of your hunting or trapping questions. Best wishes for a successful hunting and trapping season, and I encourage every hunter to introduce a new hunter to New Brunswick's wonderful hunting opportunities. Sincerely,!

Hon. Mike Holland
