Engagement…the ingredients of the great American comeback story.” Quicken’s billionaire owner, Dan Gilbert, moved his headquarters into the heart of the city and has spent more than a billion dollars on property acquisitions. The ad agency Lowe Campbell Ewald and its 600 employees relocated to Detroit describing it as a city reborn as a hotbed for “creativity, innovation and inspiration.” Midtown, near the medical examiner’s office, is a thriving neighborhood of trendy restaurants, shops and museums attracting young artists and professionals. Ann Arbor, site of the University of Michigan, offers a quality of life and amenities found in few other comparably sized communities. In 2014 alone Ann Arbor was ranked #1 on Forbes list of the 10 Most Educated Cities, #6 on USA Today’s list of best cities for well being and #13 on ’s list of the 100 best cities in which to live.
