Foster Ave.Chicago, IL 60630 September 9, 2012 Dear Ann, Once again it is time to finalize the details of the Midwest Society of Periodontology Annual Meeting. Last year Sunstar generously sponsored the Graduate Student Research Forum and Cocktail / Awards Reception. The Research Forum will be held Saturday February 23, 2013 at 7:45am at the Renaissance Chicago Hotel. Papers will be submitted in advance and reviewed by a committee. Three students are selected to present their papers and judges elect a winner and runner-ups. Each of the three participants receives a cash award, room expenses and plaque. A photograph of the participants and the Sunstar Representatives will be published in our spring newsletter. I will also mail this to you, the ADA and other publications. Sunstar will also be provided with an exhibit table Saturday February 23 (8:00 am - 4:00 pm) and Sunday morning February 24 (8:30 am - 12 noon) in a ballroom where we have coffee breaks. The exhibits tend to be rather informal and are centered on banquet size tables. The Awards Reception you sponsored last year was a big hit. The Reception will be after the program on Saturday at 5:00pm. We will have signage to announce this and also announce it at the meeting as well as in our winter newsletter. Ann, I would appreciate confirmation of your generous support in the amount of $5000 for the Research Forum and Awards Reception. Attached is Information for Exhibitors. Additional information about the society is available at the MSP website . I hope you will once again join us as an exhibitor and major sponsor. Ann, please give me a call if you have any questions. North AveSuite #700Chicago, IL 60642January 1, 2013Dear Pete, I hope this finds you well and you and your family enjoyed the holiday season. This is just a reminder that the Friday February 22, 2013 meeting of the Executive Committee and Committee Chairpersons will be held from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM (drinks and hors d’oeuvres’) in the Bucktown Room (3rd floor) at the Renaissance Hotel and the breakfast meeting on Sunday February 24, 2013 will be from 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM in the Bucktown Room on the 3rd floor. Will you please send me a meeting agenda for the Friday meeting so that I can make copies to distribute. I previously sent past Friday agendas to help you formulate yours.I have received conformation from 24 exhibitors. The following exhibitors are not being charged for their exhibit space as they are sponsoring speakers: Biomet 3i - Dr. Tarnow, Nobel - Dr. Langer, Inrta-Lock, MIS and DoWell - Ziv Mazor. Most exhibitors from last year have given a verbal commitment and a few have not responded. Three exhibitors from last year will not participate this year (so far) Ace Surgical Supply, Implant Direct Sybron and Riemser. We have picked up one definite new exhibitor, Hiossen, Inc. and I am awaiting confirmation of another. The reasons given for not participating, not enough traffic in the exhibit area and shortage of staff to man the exhibit. Hopefully we will have between 26 and 28 exhibitors this year. We usually have some last minute inquiries so do not see a problem having 28 exhibitors. We are in the process of working with the hotel for finalizing the food service, AV, completing the signage, finalizing the cocktail party to be hosted by Sunstar and finalizing other arrangements with the hotel. I have made reservations for you at the Renaissance to arrive on Thursday February 21, 2013 and depart on Sunday February 24, 2013 (PLEASE CONFIRM WITH ME THAT THIS IS CORRECT). We normally have lunch for the speakers in your suite from 12 noon to 1:15PM on Saturday. I will order lunches for the speakers Dr.’s Tarnow and Langer, the program chairperson, Dr. Walsh, Dr. Fauth, you and me. You or Tim should confirm with Dr.’s Tarnow and Langer that lunch is available for them.
