ASTDD Committees, Board of Directors, or national partners contact Best Practices Committee (BPC) consultant to discuss Best Practices topic.BPC Consultant sends Best Practice Approach Report (BPAR) Template to the chair and consultant, or key contact, of collaborating ASTDD committee/ partner organization. If this is an update to an existing BPAR, a copy of the existing report will be sent.ASTDD Board of Directors (BOD) reviews draft BPARPrimary author reviews recommendations; revises and resubmits.Descriptive Reports are collected and then reviewed by several BPC members & BPAR workgroup. Reviewed Descriptive Reports are sent back to submitters for revisions based on input from reviewers. Contact BP Consultant for assistance. BOD approves BPARDraft BPAR sent to BPC Chair & Consultant, workgroup and/or BPC members for review and editing. ASTDD lead editor completes editing.The BP consultant assists with selection of members for BPAR workgroup. Committee members/ partners are the content experts. Other experts may be asked to be part of the BPAR workgroup depending on the topic. The primary author may be a Dental Public Health resident, MPH student, or other person qualified to develop narrative on the topic.Reviewers and/or ASTDD editor request revisions.If a Descriptive Report is not used in the BPAR the summary section will be posted as a State Activity Submission.Reviewers & BPC agree document ready for BOD review.Final BPAR posted to website and disseminated to other organizations.BPAR workgroup mentors/guides primary author in development of BPAR outline and narrative. Primary author is given BPAR Toolkit. Workgroup puts out call for Descriptive Reports for inclusion in BPAR. BOD requests revisions BPC communicates recommended changes to the primary author. Every few years BPAR should be reviewed and updated along with Descriptive Reports.
