SUMMER 2020 - SOE Scholarships
*This is for undergraduate students registering for 3 or more credit hours at UNM’s main campus.

(May 20 Annual Deadline falls on the weekend)
Eligibility Requirements
• Undergraduate Students in the School of Engineering: Student must be admitted in the UNM School of Engineering at the time of application and must have passed Math 162 (Calculus I) with a letter grade of C or better.
• Demonstrate Financial Need and Scholastic ability
• New Mexico Resident (preferred by the major funding source, but not required for all)
Application Guidelines
1. Register for summer courses at UNM (courses registered must count toward your Engineering degree) OR submit a copy of the acceptance letter from the Study Abroad Program you are participating in.
2. One of the major sources of funding for SOE summer scholarships requires students to be financial need eligible. If you have not filed the 2019-2020 FAFSA, please file to increase your chances to receive funding. UNM’s federal aid school code is 002663. If you already have a 2019-2020 FAFSA on file at UNM, as soon as you register for summer courses, a summer budget will be established in the UNM Financial Aid system and we will be able to access your financial aid information directly from our office. You DO NOT need to contact the UNM Financial Aid Office.
3. Complete and sign the SOE scholarship application. We will not process unsigned applications.
4. Attach a short essay of up to one-page briefly describing your interest in the Engineering or Computer Science field and your need for having to take a summer course.
NOTE: Retain a copy of the application package for your records.
