Reddit Discussed Stocks

The Horizons Global Uranium Index ETF was up 10% today as Reddit's WallStreetBets shifted focus to Cameco (NYSE: CCJ). 25M shares were traded today vs CCJ's daily average of 5M. CCJ was the second most discussed stock (after SPY/SPDR S&P 500) on retail platforms.

Last week, we mentioned enCore Energy's (TSXV: EU) acquisition of Azarga Uranium (TSX: AZZ). AZZ shares are up 294% since we initiated coverage in August 2020. Shares of GoviEx Uranium (TSXV: GXU) are up 92% since we initiated coverage last month. Skyharbour (TSXV: SYH) is up 69% since our last update in April 2021. The global movement towards clean energy has been driving optimism in the uranium sector. Uranium spot prices are up 37% YTD to US$34/lb. We have a positive outlook on uranium prices, and believe that long-term prices have to be at least $50/lb for new projects to come online.

Our pick last week, Clover Health Investments (NASDAQ: CLOV), was down 3.7%. Since we started this section in March, 23 out of 28 picks have generated positive returns. The Electric Vehicle sector remains the most actively discussed among retail investors, followed by cryptos, cannabis, and betting.
