The Best Fund Families of 2017

This year's ranking includes firms' entire roster of actively managed mutual and exchange-traded funds (and most smart beta ETFs), but excludes most index funds. Natixis takes the top spot for the second year in a row, and the third time in the five years it's been in the Fund Families ranking. The firm oversees $998 billion in more than 26 affiliates, including Oakmark Funds and Loomis Sayles. The top five is rounded out with some familiar names.
