The information below is as of now, but can change accordingly and probably will. North ReportNorthern Foursomes –the event was to be held at Bromborough G.C. Cheshire 14th -16th April, we had a very good response with maximum entries but sadly this date has had to be cancelled. A new date in September is been looked into, if Bromborough cannot accommodate us, it is possible that the 2021 foursomes will be held at there in Cheshire instead of in Lancashire, discussions are still taking place. CMW 2020 – to be held at Foxton Hall Golf Club Northumberland - Monday 22nd June – Friday 26th June. At the moment we have no directive from E.G. about this event being cancelled, Northumberland the host County have said they will make a decision 6 weeks beforehand as to if the event can take place – all this may change depending on other Counties and a decision may be made sooner. England Golf Regional Medal Final- Chase your Dream Regional event which is being held at Brancpeth Castle on 25th June, Final this year will take place at Frilford Heath Oxfordshire. Clubs should have already submitted the person representing them from the winner of their E.G. Medals (aggregate of the 4 best medal scores) let’s hope this can take place Australian Spoons – Regional qualifier to be held at Haydock Park Lancashire on Monday 27th July, closing date for entries is 30th June. At the moment we have had no notification of this not going ahead Northern Championship – this is to be held at Brancpeth Castle Durham on 3rd August, please support this event if it still goes ahead as there are various age group categories for all to play in. All details of these events can be found on the E.G. website under North Regional competitions or we will try to update you on England Golf Report As well as cancelling all competitions until 7th June, E.G. have cancelled all meetings and also postponed their AGM which was to be held on April 23rd.At the December meeting SafeGolf Accreditation was launched by England Golf for affiliated clubs and facilities. The SafeGolf accreditation process is designed to enable clubs, through easily accessible documents and templates, to ensure they are delivering a safe environment for the sport to be played in. The SafeGolf accreditation process will become part of the England Golf affiliation process from January 2021. In order to assist clubs achieve accreditations, regional workshops will be arranged at a later date and you will be advised where they are to be held. Time to Listen Workshops Time to listen is a three hour, interactive workshop which has been developed by the NSPCC’c Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) and looks in detail at the role of the welfare officer. In order to achieve SafeGolf accreditation, clubs must appoint a club welfare officer who has completed a Time to listen workshop. This workshop became compulsory for all club welfare officers from 1st April 2019. Due to the problems with the Corona Virus the planned workshops have had to be cancelled but will be re-scheduled later in the year. Safeguarding E.G. are hoping that Counties will lead the way in this initiative by making sure they have all the proper documentation for when they run their events or have coaching, Counties can then also be SafeGolf accredited. YLCGA are in the process of getting this accreditation and our County Welfare officer Dawn and junior organiser Karen have been on the appropriate courses, all our Coaches are Safe Golf accredited. For more information you can find details about SafeGolf accreditation via . Independent golfer The Sports Marketing Survey that was sent out to golf clubs Secretaries did not seem to reach every club. We were to have a summary by County as to the responses from Clubs but the report seems to be inconclusive, I will therefore send out further details if and when I receive them. Any change to the information that I have provided will be posted on the YLCGA website as soon as we are notified. Sue Milner England Golf Representative ................
