Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

THE BIG GIVE - The Big Give is here. Please help Support MAC!

It’s the week of The annual Big Give!  We all want the best for our students and staff, and The Big Give offers the MAC community a way to directly impact our Campus Activity Fund.  Our Goal is to raise $2000 this next week of March 21st through March 28th. Your donations will help our campus to purchase technology equipment in support of our special education students at MAC.  I hope you will consider sharing our fundraising page with your friends and family on social media to get the word out about MAC and the difference we make for our kids and our community. Please join us in helping reach our fundraising objective by visiting our fundraising page at:

Written requests must be turned in to the Main Office as soon as possible, as we must still call to confirm that it is a valid request. MAC GIRLS’ SOCCER – On Tuesday March 19th, our Lady Brahmas were at BAC taking on Reagan. Our Brahmas played hard and challenged the Lady Rattlers. On Friday, our Lady Brahmas were back at BAC in their final season game against Lee. Our Lady Brahmas put up a good fight and put one in the net, when Kiana Moore scored on a penalty kick. Unfortunately, it would not be enough, as the Brahmas took a loss to LEE.

Our Lady Brahmas had a tough season, but they played every game with grit and determination. We are so proud of them and the hard work they put in this year. Thanks to all of our Lady Brahmas for some great games. Special thanks to our graduating seniors. We look forward to a great season next year. Go Lady Brahma Soccer!

Go Brahma Tennis!

MAC TRAINERS – On March 22, 2019, the student athletic training program at MacArthur attended the Alamo Area Athletic Trainers’ Association Student Workshop.  They attended a morning of educational breakouts, learning about the field of athletic training, and visiting area colleges to hear about their athletic training programs.  They were able to watch a knee dissection, and they got to see life flight helicopter in action!  In the afternoon, they competed with 45 area high schools in various events.  Our own Isabella Leija placed 3rd in the cotton tipped javelin event, and our quiz bowl team made up of Anais Preston, Mitchell Chapman, Serena McBroom, Lauren Chacon and Angel Wiedner placed 2nd!  We are very proud of them, and congratulate them on their great representation of the Brahmas! Go Brahma Trainers!

MAC THEATER – On Saturday, the BRAHMA One Act Play was in district conpetition at Madison. All eight schools in district 27-6A competed, with MAC going first. Their production of A Lie of the Mind was incredible! Going first in these competitions is always tough, but the Brahmas pulled it off with flying colors. At the end of the day MAC was selected with two other schools to move on to Bi-District competition. In addition, Christopher Lodge and Olivia Velazquez were named to the All-Star Cast, and Zoe Barkhurst was named to the Honorable Mention All-Star Cast. Congratulations to all of our One Act Play actors, grew and directors on a job well done. They got high marks from all of the judges. Next is Bi-District on Thursday, March 28th with perfomence time to be determined. Once again, our Brahmas will present A Lie of the Mind. A dark comedy/tragedy concerning two families who are connected by the marriage of Jake, the son of one family, to Beth who is the daughter of the other. The playwright, Sam Shepard, one of America’s most forward dramatists, created a play that is filled with poetry, action and high stakes. Characters mistake the living for the dead, one brother for another brother, sons for fathers, sisters for wives - even, at one loony point, a man for a deer. Sometimes the people can't remember their own identities: Beth and her mother both mistake themselves for a lobotomized family matriarch. The play concerns mature content but is rooted in the heartache and desire for love.

We wish our Brahmas the very best as they continue their run towards State! Go Brahma OAP!!
