Classroom Rules and Procedures - PC\|MAC

Mrs. Jackie See’s Classroom Rules and Procedures

School Year 2011-2012

Social Studies Moorefield High School

1. Come to class prepared:

← Students are to come to class with all materials to be used in class each day including, paper, pencil/pen, and textbook.

← Students should also come prepared with the day’s assignment.

2. Students are to be in their seats on time for class:

← You must be in class on time. I have NO sympathy for tardiness. Class attendance is an important responsibility.

← Stay in assigned seat. Students are not permitted to “roam” about the classroom or change seats without permission from the teacher.

3. Assignments are due on time:

← All assignments are due ON TIME at the beginning of the period.

← Late assignments WILL NOT be accepted! Assignments are considered late once they have been collected.

← In the event of an anticipated absence from class, it is the STUDENT’S responsibility to notify the teacher and get any work that will be missed as well as hand in any assignments due prior to the absence. This includes any absence related to school activities including athletic or academic events, personal reasons, appointments, court dates, etc.

← Students who are unexpectedly absent on the day an assignment is due may submit the assignment to me by emailing it to me at jrsee@access.k12.wv.us. It must be sent prior to the beginning of your class block. This method of delivery should NOT be used on a regular basis. Class attendance is crucial. However, I do recognize that emergencies arise and that it is not always possible to email me the assignment. Exceptions may be granted for emergency situations.

← Make up exams (unit/chapter tests or quizzes) will not be permitted after I have returned the graded exams to the class. If you are absent on the day of an exam you should call me at the school or email me prior to first period to arrange a make-up. It is your responsibility to schedule the re-take at the earliest time available. It is best to contact me through e-mail or by calling the school to let me know if you plan on scheduling a re-take. In the event of an anticipated absence, the student will be expected to take the test prior to the absence or make arrangements with the teacher for a make up exam.

← It is the responsibility of the STUDENT to meet with the teacher to discuss make up work after any unexpected absence. You should check with me upon your return to school to see what work you have missed!

← Students who miss class due to an unexcused absence will NOT be permitted to make up any missed assignments.

← Exceptions may be granted on an individual basis at the discretion of the teacher in emergency situations.
