HOW TO HAVE A $1,000 DAY

Make a list of 50 people (names and addresses) – customers, potential customers, neighbors, and people you are too chicken to tell that you are with Mary Kay – people with skin. Keep a master list for your reference. Recognize this is a numbers game.

Make 50 copies of the $1,000 day letter below. You will need to make the necessary adjustments to the time of year and if there is any incentive for any additional things going on like for recruiting, etc. (READ THE ENTIRE LETTER before just sending it out, to make sure it is updated).

Choose a day to have your $1,000 day and a time to end it. It has been proven that Friday, Saturday, or Sundays are not good days and that 6:00 is an excellent time to end your day. Those that have not called in, you can call and check with them to see if they need or want anything.

This year – we only need to send a letter and a price list since Look Books just went out.

However if you prefer you could fold the letter in thirds and tape it inside the Beauty Book. Tape the ends of the book and mail them. The cost for a Beauty Book and letter is approximately 66 cents; the cost for a Look Book and letter is $1.32 but could depend on where it’s going in relation to where you are. Would be best to put in 6 x 9 manilla envelope to mail but then be sure to also include your return label. If you don’t have time and don’t have books, a “last” option would be to mail out our Shopping Specials you use at a skin care party. It’s VITAL that the customer has something to look at. NSD Tammy Crayk says this is incredibly important not to skimp here or don’t complain if you don’t get results. Be sure to weigh the total items you’re mailing (including an envelope) and check the prices and dimensions at . I would suggest to allow 2-3 hours of “stuffing” time for 50 books. Small time investment for great return.

On your chosen day refer to your master list and check off the people as they call in recording how much they purchased. At 6:00 make calls to all of the people that didn’t call in.

In Tammy Crayk’s unit they had over 11 people have $1,000 days. The others who did the challenge had great results with $500, $600, or $700 days – don’t feel badly for them. This is proven – it does work. Take the challenge, do this and take a gamble on yourself. HAPPY $1,000 DAY!!

Marilyn’s personal testimony 2012 – I believe this is the first time I’ve actually done this (after hearing this idea for many years) and I did sell $1,000 and mailed out 75 books and letters. Remember that you only do a drawing for the 40% off WHEN you meet the $1,000 in sales goal. Obviously the goal is to sell even more than $1,000. This was fabulous for our first year and on average consultants who sent out 40+ books sold between $300-750…..which I think is fabulous for a first year. We will do this once or twice a year for sure! Such a boost to get you engaged in your business and connected with your customers which leads to future bookings, sales and career talks!

Other options: You could include something like the You Tube Survey for an extra entry or any other special incentive you’d like.
