At the Children’s Book Council site, , you’ll find yearly recommended lists prepared by the professional organizations of the science teachers and social studies teachers.

The Maryland Black-Eyed Susan Award and/or Pennsylvania Young Reader’s Choice Award include books for teens. Read the current year’s master list or recent yearly winners.

When you do not like a particular book, don’t finish it; just skim it. Do not, of course, write an annotation for this book. When you find an author you really enjoy, read more of his/her books. When I highlight authors in class, you may expect to see them on a test.
