MKZ puts 400 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque3 at your disposal, all made possible by twin-turbocharging, direct-injection technology. Underfoot, it's planted with the help of Dynamic Torque Vectoring1,2 and Intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD).2,4 This duo of technologies can send up to 100% of the available rear-axle torque to one outside rear wheel while cornering to deliver a smooth and seamless driving experience.

It charges its lithium-ion battery as needed, which means you don't need to plug it in. In fact, MKZ has the ability to travel at speeds up to 85 mph in purely electric mode.

To help maximize efficiency, an advanced Regenerative Braking System can capture up to 94% of the brake energy that would normally be lost and repurpose it to power the vehicle. Plus, the SmartGauge? instrument cluster with EcoGuide provides visual confirmation of your good driving habits.
