The City will continue to take proactive steps to protect the safety and well-being of our community. Effective Monday, March 16, the City of Santa Fe will close all public libraries and recreation centers. The Santa Fe Public Library will close its three branches (Main, La Farge, and Southside). The Genoveva Chavez Community Center (GCCC) and Ft. Marcy Sports Complex will also close. At this time the Municipal Recreation Sports Complex will remain open.The Santa Fe Public library will continue to provide many digital services, such as e-books and e-audiobooks, streaming movies, TV and music services, free access to magazines and newspapers. Our creative and resourceful staff members are already exploring online programming opportunities such as storytelling, reading programs, or video programming featuring local authors. To access Library digital services please visit Fe Public Library staff will use library@ as a reference question platform, and will be answering the phone numbers of all three Library Branches during business hours. Library staff will assist with reference questions and provide support on how to access digital resources. The Santa Fe Public Library is extending loan periods for those who have yet to return Library materials. Library materials can be returned when Library facilities reopen.Similar to the Library staff, our recreation team is working to come up with creative alternatives to classes and programs. Our recreation staff will be answering the main phone lines at both the recreation centers. We will continue to provide information on these services as they become available.All City closures, event / meeting cancellations, and postponements are effective through Sunday, April 5, 2020.
