Ofsted Inspection
Our Ofsted inspection took place on 4 June 2018. The outcome of the inspection was very positive, stating that our school continues to be ‘good’. The inspection report is a very fair assessment of Abbey and celebrates the many positive qualities that make the school a great place for your children to be. Next steps for the school are:
Teachers to provide activities in reading and mathematics that build on what the most able pupils can already do, providing consistent challenge and
To continue to raise pupils’ attendance and reduce persistent absenteeism.
Best Attending Year Group
Year 2 had the best attendance last half term and were able to wear their own clothes on Thursday 24 May 2018. We can’t wait to see which year group are the best attendees this half term!
Young Writer Success!
Congratulations to Ros Kuznecovs (Amber) who received an award from Young Writers’ UK for an original piece of creative writing. His mini saga has been chosen for publication in a Young Writers’ Anthology because of its imagination, originality and use of language. ’Toy Stories – Tales from Surrey’ is scheduled for publication in August. Well done Ros!
Behaviour Raffle Winners for last Half Term
Congratulations to Frankie Reynolds (Lilac), Faith Hill (Yellow), Franky Mara (Green) and Aimee Mitchell (Amber) for winning the good behaviour raffle last half term. They are all very well deserved winners.
Netball Success!!!
Our netball team became League B cup winners for the first time ever. They played a brilliant match against All Saints Benhilton. The attitude of the girls was amazing. They played as a team and supported each other throughout. Mrs Bedforth was so proud of the girls. Well done!
Summer Fair
We all really enjoyed the summer fair this year. It was lovely to see so many families supporting the school. We will email you when we know the amount of money raised at the event.
Notes from the School Office
Please do not let your children ride around the playground on bikes or scooters at the start and end of the school day. This is causing a danger to the safety of other children. Many thanks for your co-operation.
Sports Days
The children all really enjoyed Sports Day this year. The winning house over all was Weir. Well done to all the children for performing so well in all the events.
