Distance Learning TipsforParents--Help your child establish and stick to a routine.Continue to treat school days just like you would if your child was attending school as usual. This includes: having them go to bed at the same time; having them get up at the same time every day; getting properly dressed; eating a healthy breakfast.--Make space for learning.Your child will achieve the best work in a quiet, comfortable, and dedicated space devoted to learning. Ideally this will be a different space than where they normally play games or watch television.--Check in with the School Counselor or Teacher.Teachers and Professional School Counselors are available to connect with parents. Check in if your child is having difficulty managing the online learning platform or staying on task. Be on the lookout for any communication from teachers, counselors, or other school personnel.--Encourage physical activity and exercise.Students should use break time to get up from sitting; walk around; exercise – any movement helps.--Resist the urge to sit in on classes. While it may certainly be tempting to “pop” in on your child’s classes, please respect their privacy and that of other students. Connect with faculty and staff through email or other communication channels before or after school hours.Source: Variety of articles on distance learning. ................
