Predictive Services Discussion:

Dry and windy conditions will spread across the southern Great Basin, southeast California, western Colorado, and much of Arizona leading to elevated and critical fire weather conditions. Hot, dry, and unstable conditions will extend from the Desert Southwest through the Central Valley into the Pacific Northwest, mostly along and west of the Cascades, near a thermal trough. Isolated dry thunderstorms are likely across portions of far north Idaho and northwest Montana, eastern Utah, and western Colorado, and from far southeast Arizona into southwest and central New Mexico. Scattered thunderstorms are likely across much of the Rockies along and east of the Divide, with severe thunderstorms expected from the Front Range across the central Plains into the Upper Midwest and western Great Lakes. Scattered to widespread thunderstorms are also expected from the ArkLaTex through the Southeast and up the East Coast. Cooler and wetter conditions are expected across much of Alaska, but portions of the eastern Interior will remain warm and dry.
