Year5 SRJKC TOPIC- Precious Animals

What is your favourite animal?

List at least 5 aspects/characteristics you admire/like about this animal (other than its physical features), by beginning the sentence:

“I like _____(A)_________ best because it is 1)____________________________________, etc.”

When you have completed this list raise your hand.

Form small groups of 3-4. Each one reads the above sentences to each other.

Then switch (A) the animal to (YOURSELF) =

“I like myself because I am ________________________________. Etc.”

Finally say/rate (1- Not very much – 5 Very Much) how much of the sentences/characteristics reflect YOU.

What does “precious” mean? Valuable – value by whom?

How PRECIOUS are you? TO whom are you considered important?

List as many of them as possible in 2 minutes.

WHAT OTHER ANIMALS do you consider “precious”?

Do you like bees? WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT BEES?

Prepare a KWHL chart on BEES:
