I have finally found something that is getting my daughter (10) interested in writing. This book provides a series of short writings and essays that serve as a springboard for discussion - both for content and, more importantly, to discuss how the author has chosen a particular style or

perspective.

Models for Writers is a great text book for teaching introductory college composition. The explanations of the topics and the instructions on writing are brief and to the point. The main emphasis is on short essays that illustrate the different writing concepts and genres. The text provides both professional samples and student samples. I did not use Launch Pad, the online component, and I find this text book and internet support component extremely expensive for students--this is true of almost all text books.

I teach college composition and I absolutely love this book. Other textbooks are so overstuffed and boring. This book has sample essays I can't put down instead of too-long academic essays students will never read let alone write like. I highly recommend this book!

Finally, I got the book on the second attempt, after making an effort to find it. Thanks to the people that made this book an e-textbook. It made my day to be saved on that issue that I had before. Thank God that e-textbooks are very practical.

This book was purchased as a part of my college course requirements, however it does have outstanding essays and a lot of good information on writing.
