Double handed backhandEducation:Secondary School: Pretoria High School for GirlsGraduation: 4th January 2016Academic Achievement: National Senior Certificate with admission into Bachelor’s DegreeGPA: 2.8SAT Score: 1060 (Maths 570, English 490)Tertiary School(s): South Dakota State University (On-campus and Online), Clarendon College (online), Southeast Nebraska Community College (online)GPA: 1.9Personal statement:I am a well-rounded individual with great passion for tennis and life in general. Giving me a place on your team will help towards developing me to my fullest potential. I am confident of being a valuable asset as a singles and double player, as well as a supportive team member. As a person with diverse experiences on and off the court, I would be a great ambassador for college tennis. After a year of college tennis at South Dakota State in 2016/2017 my scholarship was not renewed. I was injured in the fall season and didn’t get the chance perform on court. I was also home sick and had family trouble which led to a slip in my grades. It is important to note that tennis at SDSU was cancelled the following season. Despite these setbacks, I really learned where I can and need to develop in my game. During the past two years to I‘ve been working full time and studying part time, study as well as fitting in time for my mental and physical fitness.Unfortunately, the tennis situation in South Africa is deteriorating due to lack of funding and sponsorships, making it harder for us players to find and play tournaments and opponents with strong UTR ratings. been playing competitively and training as but due to work obligation I have only been to play local leagues as traveling to tournaments is a bit of a problem. In hindsight it was not the best idea to squeeze in part time studying.?Due to many reasons I think I would be best for me to return to the States. I perform better in a classroom set up with people rather than on my own with an online platform. Additionally, the level of tennis in the USA are much higher than the South African level. The only thing I would not do is work while I study and play tennis if there is limited time. I hope to find another school in the USA that will see my talent and potential and help me be the best player I can be. I am much fitter physically and mentally and am ready to take on US college tennis for a second time and successfully complete college.
