Reunion 9, 2018

6 September – 9 September 2018

FELLOW TUGGERS! The Final plans for the 9th Reunion of the Coast Guard Tug Association are completed! The majority of the membership present at our 2016 reunion voted in favor of holding our next gathering in Troy/Waterford, NY. Your wish is our command and we hope to bring you another memorable experience.

Dates: Thursday, 6 September – Sunday, 9 September 2018

Location: Best Western Franklin Square Inn, Troy, NY

We have booked a block of 30 rooms at the Best Western, 1 Fourth St. in Troy, with a hospitality suite/meeting room in-house. All rooms include a complimentary hot breakfast and all rooms are complete with microwaves & refrigerators. The hotel is located within walking distance to the Historic Troy river front, shops, and restaurants. The nearest airport is in Albany, NY.

The cost of the reserved block of rooms is set at $110.00 for Thursday and $149.00 for Friday & Saturday for all rooms, per night, plus tax (first come, first served). Depending on our number of registrations, additional rooms may be added.

Hotel reservations must be individually made at The Best Western Franklin Square Inn by calling 1-518-274-8800 and identifying yourself with the Coast Guard Tug Assoc or on-line by using the following link: .

Reservations must be made not later than 22 August 2018 to ensure confirmation and group rates. After that date, the hotel will offer their best available rate (which may be higher).

As at all previous reunions, attendees will be responsible for making their own individual hotel reservations, travel, banquet cost, and any additional sponsored events (additional admissions to attractions, etc) and personal expenses.

The dinner/meeting will be held Saturday, 8 September, from 1830 – 2230 at Brown’s Malt Room, 425 River St. in Troy (within short walking distance from hotel). Cost of the banquet/meeting is $35.00 per person. Dinner will be buffet service with a choice of entrees, sides, beverages, and dessert. There will be a cash bar available. As at past reunions, uniforms are an option and encouraged for the Dinner/Meeting on Saturday. Any active duty, retired, or veteran members are welcome to “break out the old sea bag” and attend in uniform. The Uniform of the Day will be Tropical Blue Long or appropriate prior uniform (whites/khakis). Civilian dress: casual.

We are a non – profit, 501 (c) 3 incorporated veteran’s organization. We need your help to maintain a solid treasury. Your dues and donations help us finance our Association’s business, support our reunions, assist in “up front” financing for future events and memorabilia, and our internet presence; also, to work on the recovery and restoration of Coast Guard tug archives and, if possible, vessels. Any donations to the “cause” are appreciated and are fully tax deductible!

Hope to see a great turn out in New York!
