In the ‘synonym-section’ the dictionary comes up with an example: “Gaze is often indicative of wonder, fascination, awe, or admiration: gazing at the stars.” Within the realm of tourism studies this “steady, fixed look” is often used to describe the way tourists look and make sense of the world around them. ................
