TIME

Above is an example of what the line looks like in football.

The computer betting number for the Bears is 301; for the Colts,

it is 302. The Colts are a three-point favorite. This is indicated by

the -3 to the right of their name. The Bears, therefore, are a threepoint underdog, +3. The number 44 indicates the total (over/

under). The +130 and -150 represent the money line (M/L). The

game will start at 1:00 p.m. (Pacific). The bottom team listed is

the home team. In the event that the game is to be played on

a neutral field, that neutral site will be listed on scratch sheets.

In football wagering, a point spread is used to attempt to

equalize two teams. In the above example, the Colts are a

3-point favorite over the Bears. If you wanted to wager on the

Colts, they would have to win the game by more than 3 points

in order for you to win your wager. If you decide to wager on

the Bears, in order for you to win your wager, the Bears would

have to either win the game or lose by less than 3 points.

Should the Colts win by exactly 3 points, it is classi?ed as a tie

(push) and all straight wagers would be refunded.

POINT SPREAD

In football, when betting on the point spread or the total, the

player wagers $11.00 to win $10.00 or any multiples thereof

unless speci?ed otherwise. For example: A $55.00 winning

wager returns $105.00 (a $50.00 win). If you chose to wager

amounts other than multiples of 11, our computers will

calculate the payout and print it on the ticket.

TOTALS

The game total (over/under) is 44. You may wager on whether

the combined ?nal score for both teams will be either over

or under this number. Should the combined ?nal score end

exactly on 44, ALL total straight wagers would be classi?ed as

a tie (push) and wagers refunded. All points scored in overtime

are counted in the ?nal score. When betting the over/under,

it does not matter who wins the game, only how many points

are scored.

the greater the payoff. In the event of a tie in any game or total,

the parlay is reduced to the next lower number of parlays, thus

a four-team parlay with one tie would simply become a threeteam parlay. (Exception: A tie in a two-team parlay becomes a

straight wager.)

FOOTBALL TEASERS

Sportsbook at Timeout Lounge offers 6, 6? and 7 point teasers

on pro football and 6?, 7 and 7? point teasers on college

football. You may wager from two to eight teams in a teaser

unless speci?ed otherwise. A teaser wager allows you to adjust

the point spread in your favor by the teaser points chosen.

All teams selected in a teaser combination must win by their

adjusted margin. In a two-team teaser involving a tie, the wager

is considered no action and money is refunded regardless of

the outcome of the other game.

BASKETBALL

The betting on basketball is similar to football, as you are betting

with a point spread. You make your selections either giving or

taking the points then wagering $11.00 for every $10.00 you

want to win. When totals (over/under) are posted on our boards,

you have the option of betting over or under the total points

listed. (The same $11.00 to $10.00 wager applies to totals, unless

speci?ed otherwise.) All points scored in overtime are counted in

the ?nal score. Should any game be classi?ed as a tie according

to the point spread, all straight wagers will be refunded. There

are also money lines posted on certain games. (See ※Football§

for money line explanation.)

You may combine two or more teams or totals in a single wager.

In parlay wagering, as in teaser wagering, ALL teams included

in a parlay must win against the point spread or total. The more

teams included in a parlay, the greater the payoff. In the event

of a tie in any game or total in parlay bets, the parlay is reduced

to the next lower number of parlays, thus a four-team parlay with

one tie would simply become a three-team parlay. (Exception:

A tie in a two-team parlay becomes a straight wager.)

MONEY LINE

The money line wager is indicated by +130 on the Bears and

-150 on the Colts. Money line is a wager for a particular team

to win the game without consideration of the point spread

(straight-up). For example: If you wager on the Colts to win,

you would wager $1.50 to win $1.00 for a total return of $2.50.

If you wager on the Bears to win the game, you would wager

$1.00 to win $1.30 for a total return of $2.30.

FOOTBALL PARLAYS

You may combine two or more teams or totals in a single

wager. In parlay wagering, ALL teams included must win by

the point spread or total. The more teams included in a parlay,

TOTAL TIME

Above is an example of what the line looks like in baseball.

The computer betting number for the Yankees is 901; for the

Red Sox, it is 902. Smith is the scheduled pitcher for the Yankees

and Jones is the scheduled pitcher for the Red Sox. The fact that

the Red Sox are listed on the bottom indicates that they are the

home team. The numbers to the right of the pitchers* names are

the odds on the game. The -135 next to Jones indicates that he

is the favorite, while the +115 shows that Smith is the underdog.

(These prices are equated to $1.00.) Therefore, for every dollar

you want to win on Jones, you would have to wager $1.35. For

example: $13.50 would win $10.00 for a total return of $23.50

or $135.00 would win $100.00 for a total return of $235.00. If

you choose to wager on Smith, for every dollar you wager, you

would win $1.15. Example: A $10.00 wager would win $11.50 for

a total return of $21.50 or a $100.00 wager would win $115.00

for a total return of $215.00.

The game total (over/under) is 8. You have the option of

betting that the combined number of runs will be either over

or under 8. In this type of bet, the player wagers $11.00 to win

$10.00, or any multiples thereof, unless speci?ed otherwise. For

example: $110.00 would win you $100.00 for a total return of

$210.00. Should the combined ?nal score end on exactly 8, ALL

total straight wagers would be classi?ed as a tie (push) and

wagers refunded.

In totals (over/under) bets, both listed pitchers must start and

the game must go at least 9 full innings, 8? if the home team is

leading. Otherwise, it will be considered ※no action§ and you

will receive a refund. All runs scored in extra innings will be

counted in your over/under wager.

In baseball, we also offer a wager called a run line. It is not

usually posted on the boards. It is, however, printed on the

daily sheets.

The run line is another way to bet the game. In the example

above, if you bet the Yankees on the run line, they would have

to win the game or lose by no more than one run for you to

win your wager. For every $1.70 that you wager, you would

win $1.00 for a total return of $2.70. If you bet the Red Sox on

the run line, they would have to win the game by two or more

runs for you to win your wager. For every $1.00 that you wager,

you would win $1.50 for a total return of $2.50. Rules for run

line wagers are the same as those for baseball totals. (Note:

Parlays involving run lines to the total of the same game are

not available.)

When wagering on baseball, you may use one of the following

methods to apply to your wager:

An ※action§ wager is a wager on a speci?c team without regard

to the starting pitching matchup. Since baseball odds are

dependent upon the starting pitchers, all action wagers are

subject to an odds adjustment if the actual starting pitchers are

different from those listed on the wagering board at the time of

your wager. No action on run lines or total wagers.

LISTED PITCHERS

A ※listed pitchers§ wager only has action if both listed pitchers

actually start the game. Should either pitcher listed on your

ticket not start the game, there is no wager and your money will

be refunded. When you wager ※listed pitchers,§ those pitchers*

names will actually be printed on your ticket.

LISTED PITCHER VERSUS OPPOSING TEAM

You may specify that one listed pitcher from either team must

start. In the event that the speci?ed listed pitcher does not start,

there is no wager and your money will

be refunded. Your wager may be subject to an odds adjustment

should there be a change in the other speci?ed pitcher (from

that originally listed). You may specify either a listed pitcher from

the team you wish to wager upon or you may wager on a team

against the opposing team*s listed pitcher.

The computer betting number for the Penguins is 2501, for the LA

Kings, is 2502. The home team is listed on the bottom. To bet on

the favored LA Kings, you would wager $1.40 to win $1.00, for a

total return of $2.40. A $1.00 wager on the underdog Penguins

would pay $1.20 for a total return of $2.20. The team you pick

must win.

The game total (over/under) goals is 5. The player wagers $11.00

to win $10.00, for a total return of $21.00 unless speci?ed otherwise.

Overtime scoring is included for all wagers on the side and total.

Should there be exactly 5 goals scored, then all wagers on the

total will be refunded. In the event of a shootout, one goal will be

added to the winning team which will be included in the total.

You may parlay baseball wagers using up to eight teams.

If totals (over/under) are posted on the game, you may also

include these in your parlay but the maximum number of teams

and totals allowed in parlays is eight. In a parlay, all teams

chosen must win, otherwise your wager is a loser. In the event

of a rainout, cancellation or a tie game or total, the parlay is

reduced to the next lower number of parlays. Examples: A fourteam parlay with one rainout game becomes a three-team

parlay; a two-team parlay with one rainout game becomes a

straight wager on the remaining game. A parlay is ?gured by

taking your original wager plus your winnings and applying it all

on each successive game. In baseball, parlays are computed

by using the money line that you see posted on the teams. Our

sports personnel will give you the information on what your

parlay will pay upon your request.

In hockey, we also offer a wager called a puck line. The puck line

is another way to bet the game.
