Suggestions for Bible Posters

1. The Intertestamental Period

a. Illustrate the five kingdoms in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream in Daniel 2.

b. See page 8 in The Ministry of Christ for labels and descriptions of kingdoms/empires.

c. Include descriptions of the fifth Kingdom by using quotes from Daniel 2:34, 44, 45.

d. Illustrations might include: The image of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, a timeline of this 400 year period from the end of the OT to the birth of Christ during the kingdom/empire of Rome, etc.

2. Regeneration and Conversion

a. Illustrate the diagram showing the turning away from the love of sin, Satan, self and the world and turning to love God and one’s neighbor.

b. Include a text from John 3 regarding Nicodemus’ and what Jesus taught him.

c. Illustrations might include: Diagram of Regeneration, Nicodemus knocking at Christ’s door at night, the Brazen Serpent lifted on a pole (John 3:14, Numbers 21:9), etc.

3. The Samaritan Woman

a. Show a map of Samaria in-between Judaea and Galilee and the route Jesus may have taken.

b. Include John 4:4.

c. Include another text from John 4 regarding the Living Water.

d. Illustrations might include: Map of Samaria, Samaritan woman going to the well, etc.

4. I AM statements of Jesus

a. Quote and illustrate a few of the I AM statements of Jesus.

b. “I AM the Bread of Life”, “I AM the Light of the World”, “I AM the Good Shepherd”, “I AM the Resurrection and the Life”, etc.

c. Illustrations might include: bread, the 5000 people, light, sheep, an open tomb/grave, etc.

5. Parable of the Wise and Foolish Builder

a. Illustrate the parable of the two builders from the last verses of the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 7.

b. Quote a verse(s) or phrase(s) from Matthew 7.

c. Illustrates might include the two houses before the storms, during the storms, and after the storms, etc.

6. The Signs of Christ’s Coming

a. List and illustrate the 10 prophetic signs of Christ’s coming.

b. Include a verse from Matthew 24.

c. Please see me if you need the list of signs.

7. Substitution

a. Illustrate the doctrine of substitution through the use of a diagram.

b. Include a text regarding Christ’s substitutionary sacrifice such as Isaiah 53:5, John 11:50, etc.

8. Christ’s Steps of Humiliation and Exaltation

a. Turn the handout on this into a poster.

b. Please see me for this handout.

9. Timeline of Christ’s Life

a. Make a timeline of Christ’s life and ministry including all major events.

b. This could be done on a poster or on a wall.

c. Please see me for a handout with major events.

10. Timeline of the Passion Week

a. Place the timeline handout on the center of a poster. Connect the major events on the timeline to various Bible texts that you could be written above and below the timeline.

b. You could use string or yarn to make the connections between the texts and the timeline.

11. The Raising of Lazarus

a. Illustrate this important event.

b. Include a text from John 11.

12. Parables

a. Illustrate a parable of your choice.

b. Include a verse(s) from the parable that helps with understanding the parable and its lesson.

13. Gethsemane, Gabbatha, and Golgotha

a. Explain the significance of these three important places using various Bible texts.

b. Illustrations may not include pictures of Christ.

14. Other Ideas – Please obtain approval.

IMPORTANT! All the content of your posters must reflect a reverence for God and His Word. No illustrations of Jesus may be included on any posters.
