The Persecuted Church: There’s another story to be told about Covid-19 – how the virus is being used against the persecuted church.Christians have been overlooked in the distribution of aid. Church closures have threated the livelihoods of church leaders. Converts have been locked down with family hostile to their faith. And Christians have even been accused of causing the virus. With Covid-19 continuing to wreak havoc, your prayers and support remain as vital as ever.PRAYER OF THE WEEKLord, we come to celebrate your power and to give thanks for your glory. We come to praise you for Jesus and for His coming to share our lives. We thank you for his riding into JerusalemWe praise you for the joy of Palm Sunday. We praise you that Jesus is King of your kingdomWe thank you that he comes as the Prince of Peace. Please send any items for next week’s STARLINK to Susan McLeod by midday this Friday, preferably by email (mcleod383@), or otherwise by hard copy to 8, Drake Road.ST ANDREW'S CHURCH, ROXBOURNE89 Malvern Avenue Harrow HA2 9ER.020 8422 3633 .ukRegistered Charity No. 1131727Star LinkSUNDAY, 28th March 2021 PALM SUNDAY Roxbournestandrews6350010795008.00 am: Holy Communion10.00 am: Parish Communion This Week’s ServicesNext Sunday 4th April Easter DayMonday – Friday9.00 am Morning Prayer [cw]Wednesday: 9.30am Holy CommunionSee separate sheet8.00 am: Holy Communion10.00 am: Parish CommunionActs 10: 34-43; 1 Corinthians 15: 1-11;Mark 16: 1-8AToday's Collect lmighty and everlasting God, who in your tender love towards the human race sent your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ to take upon him our flesh and to suffer death upon the cross: grant that we may follow the example of his patience and humility, and also be made partakers of his resurrection; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. AmenReadings:Isaiah 50: 4-9aPhilippians 2: 5-11Gospel:Mark 11: 1-11LPost-Communion Prayerord Jesus Christ, you humbled yourself in taking the form of a servant, and in obedience died on the cross for our salvation: give us the mind to follow you and to proclaim you as Lord and King, to the glory of God the Father.Isaiah 50: 4-9aThe Sovereign?Lord?has given me a well-instructed tongue,????to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning,????wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed. The Sovereign?Lord?has opened my ears;????I have not been rebellious,????I have not turned away.I offered my back to those who beat?me,????my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard;I did not hide my face????from mocking and spitting.Because the Sovereign?Lord?helps?me,????I will not be disgraced. Therefore have I set my face like flint,????and I know I will not be put to shame. He who vindicates?me is near.????Who then will bring charges against me?????Let us face each other!Who is my accuser?????Let him confront me!It is the Sovereign?Lord?who helps?me.????Who will condemn?me?They will all wear out like a garment;????the moths?will eat them up.Philippians 2: 5-11In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature?God, did not consider equality with God?something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature?of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Therefore, God exalted him?to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.Mark 11: 1-11As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives,?Jesus sent two of his disciples,?saying to them,?“Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden.?Untie it and bring it here.??If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.’”?They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway.?As they untied it,?some people standing there asked, “What are you doing, untying that colt?”??They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go.??When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it.??Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields.??Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, “Hosanna!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” ?“Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!” “Hosanna in the highest heaven!”?Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple courts. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.NOTICESWELCOME BACKAll services at St Andrew’s have restarted and the church is still open every day until 6pm for private prayer.
