Understanding what’s behind a “NAME”:

In order to have a revelation regarding the names of GOD, one must first understand the significance of a “name” when it concerns GOD. In saying that, one must be aware of what the word “name” actually means in association to the scriptures. Name in Hebrew is “Shem” which means designation or reputation. In association to this, name in Greek is “Onoma” which means designation or character. With that being said, as stated in John 14:14, if you ask anything in HIS “name” or “character,” it shall be given unto you!

Why is it critical to be aware of the true names of God?

(a) We are mandated by the Word not to violate His name. This is given to us in the following scriptures: Hosea 2:16-17; Exodus 23:13, Joshua 23:7; Isaiah 52:5-6; Zechariah 13:2; Zephaniah 3:9

b) Knowing and calling upon His true name opens the door to His blessings: Revelation 3:7

c) One runs the risk of condemnation when blaspheming HIS name due to the fact that HIS character is also in association with HIS Spirit also known as the Holy Spirit. Mark 3:29; Luke 12:10.

The Akkadians and Sumerians on occasion also used the term Ki for the same deity name of worship as Anu. This name was worshiped at cult centers and was known as the father and king of gods. Under Egyptian culture, the name has also been associated with the identity of the city Heliopolis and may root back to another variation of Zion mentioned in the Bible as a city of GOD or City of Righteousness. Note however, this city was one of the ones under the rule of Nimrod in biblical times. Anak appears in association to the Nephilim or giants in association with Gen 6:4 and Num. 13:33. It is the root word of Anaqiy, Anunnaki or Anakim which has 2 meanings in cultural background. This name would not have existed 500 years ago due to their not being any letter in existence known as “J.” If the letter “J” did not exist before then, what could the Savior have been called? The letter “J” first comes into existence in the English dialect and alphabet in the 14th Century and became widely used in the 17th Century. In the Encyclopedia Americana it states that the J and I had the same consonant sound as a Y. gradually, the J became regarded as a consonant and the I as a vowel. If one looked at an original King James Bible dated 1611, James was written as Iames, Job as Iob and Jesus as Iesous.
