TRIANGLE BIBLE INSTITUTE

FALL SEMESTER 2020

Course Descriptions:

TH302 - Pneumatology

The purpose is to instruct the doctrine of the Holy Spirit comprehensively, particularly fortifying the student against the many popular misconceptions that exist. Students will learn the personality of the Holy Spirit, the deity of the Holy Spirit, and the work of the Holy Spirit. The primary emphasis will be on the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit in the time of Christ, the Holy Spirit in conversion, baptism in the Holy Spirit as distinguished from conversion (filling), the baptism of the Holy Spirit (indwelling), and the Holy Spirit in the church. Special attention has been given to the Holy Spirit as the seven spirits of God, the Holy Spirit works of spiritual gifts and the Holy Spirit’s future in eschatology.

BI506 – Overview of Christian Denominations

Fundamentally, these six (6) sentences here depict the scripture biblical worldview: God is the Creator of the world and rules this universe (Genesis 1:1). The Bible is God’s Word for mankind and is completely accurate including matters of life and its origin (2 Timothy 3:16). Because of God and His Word, absolute moral truth exists (Psalms 102:25-27; Malachi 3:6). Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God and He lived a sinless life, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again from the grave three days later (1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 John 4:9-10). Satan is a real being (not symbolic) and seeks to defeat God’s plan for man (1 Peter 5:8). Salvation, the deliverance of the soul from sin and its consequences - Soteriology - is obtained solely by individual faith in Christ’s work on the Cross and cannot be earned (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Using the biblical worldview listed above, begin the process of answering whether the variety of views to be examined will aid you in determining the biblical worldview germane to your Christian walk in ministry and in life. You should base your determination on analogical language that will appear in your research.
