Behaviour Raffle Winners

Congratulations to the following children who were well-deserved winners of the raffle for excellent behaviour: Oscar Day (Lilac), Muhammad Hussain (Yellow), Victoria Krawczyk (Sapphire) and Ashvini Ragunathan (Purple).

School Nurse Presentation

Our school nurse is coming to give a presentation about children’s sleep at 9 a.m. on Friday 12 January 2018. She will then be available for a 1 : 1 chat with parents about individual children who may be struggling to sleep.

Open Check

Open check is a facility which enables parents to check whether a school is open in snowy conditions. Simply google ‘Open Check’ and there is a menu on the left hand side whereby you can choose an area (Sutton) and the school. In the event of snow I will endeavour to update the site to let you know whether the school is open. It will only be in extreme circumstances that the school will close.

Best Attendees This Half Term !!!

Congratulations to all the children in Y5 (Amber and Bronze) who had the best attendance this half term. As a reward the children were able to come to school in their own clothes on Thursday 14 December. We can’t wait to see who has the best attendance this half term!

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Aaron Banyon (Purple) who passed his last taekwondo grading and is now a red tag. Incredibly, Aaron only has 3 gradings until his black belt.

Child Protection - Sutton CAMHS Extended Clinic

CAMHS now offers telephone advice and consultations from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. You should call 0203 513 3800 if you have any concerns over any aspect of your child’s mental health or well- being.

Clubs

Please check the times and dates of any clubs that your child is taking part in.

Fundraising and Charity Events

Our poppy appeal this year raised an incredible £163.24. We were told that it was one of the best collections in a Sutton school. Thanks to all of you for your support for such a worthwhile charity.

Our Christmas charity this year was Jigsaw4U, which has always been important to us as a school community. The charity has supported children and families through the devastation of bereavement. Thanks to your generous donations we have raised £499.30 which will go towards supporting other families in need.

Thank you to everyone who helped make our Christmas Fair such a success this year. We raised approximately £1700. The School Council will decide on what to buy to improve playground provision and the library.

Christmas Concerts

A big thank you to all the staff and children for, yet again, putting on some really heart- warming concerts this Christmas. It is such a pleasure to see the fabulous school community at Abbey Primary. Thank you also for your support and kind words.
