He was the founder of Microsoft, and fought very Hard in order to succeed as an entrepreneur. He is an American business magnate, philanthropist, author and chairman of Microsoft. Microsoft was first founded in 1975, in which Bill Gates was responsible for the company’s product strategy, which showed what a good leader he is. He was very enthusiastic in making Microsoft succeed, working very hard in order to publicize the company, and get it more recognised. In 1985, the company struck a mega deal with IBM to develop a separate operating system. Gates also had to make many risks in trying to make Microsoft succeed, as he had to give up everything just to focus on his brand, and if it had not worked out he could have ended up with nothing. This shows us that he has a huge will to succeed. In the later stages of his career, Gates has pursued a number of philanthropic endeavors, donating large amounts of money to various charitable organizations and scientific research programs through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, established in 2000.Bill Gates stepped down as chief executive officer of Microsoft in January 2000. He remained as chairman and created the position of chief software architect. In June 2006, Gates announced that he would be transitioning from full-time work at Microsoft to part-time work and full-time work at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He gradually transferred his duties to Ray Ozzie, chief software architect and Craig Mundie, chief research and strategy officer. Gates' last full-time day at Microsoft was June 27, 2008. The company now is massive around the world, and has produced total revenue of about 90 billion, from just 1975 to 2010. Microsoft will be an everlasting brand/company, as it is so well known, and has such high reputation. Bill Gates is admired by many, a number of industry insiders criticize his business tactics, which they consider anti-competitive, an opinion which has in some cases been upheld by the courts. Many entrepreneurs look up to him, and want to be as successful, which gives them something to focus upon.
