ACUSHNET AWARDS 111 RECIPIENTS THROUGH

PGA APPRENTICE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. –The Acushnet Company, which includes the Titleist, FootJoy and Cobra brands, has announced the 2005 recipients for the Acushnet PGA Apprentice Scholarship Program.

The program, which Acushnet dedicates to future industry leaders, provides financial aid to the highest achievers in Level 3 of the PGA Professional Golf Management program. Acushnet PGA Apprentice Scholarships of $1,000 each were awarded to 111 Level 3 graduates of the PGA/PGM program. Scholarships are awarded to the top graduate from each PGA Section and based upon the size of each Section’s membership. Additional scholarships will be available to the Top 25 graduates not otherwise recognized by a PGA Section or PGM university that has received a scholarship.

“The PGA of America is proud of the commitment of its apprentice professionals, as they have achieved a foothold in our Association, and we are equally pleased that Acushnet recognizes the importance of these individuals by continuing a commitment to the scholarship program,” said Roger Warren, president, The PGA of America. “Acushnet is a longtime partner to PGA Professionals, and its dedication to them underscores our Association’s commitment to the training and education of the next generation of golf’s leaders.”

“Acushnet has a long history of providing educational support to PGA Professionals,” said Peter Broome, Acushnet vice president of Business and Partnerships. “We believe that supporting the educational pursuits of apprentices is an important investment in the future, as the assistants of today will be the industry leaders of tomorrow.”

Celebrating its 90th anniversary, The PGA of America was founded in 1916, and is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the game of golf, while continuing to enhance the standards of the profession. The Association is comprised of more than 28,000 men and women PGA Professionals who are dedicated to growing participation in the game of golf.
