Textbook: Holt, Rhinehart, & Wilson: Modern Biology

Welcome to Biology! This course is for the college bound student and is a rigorous study of modern traditional biological science. Concepts and principles of biology applicable to all life are presented to emphasize that all living systems are similar and related. Laboratory skills are developed to reinforce the understanding of biological concepts and processes. This course is based on South Carolina’s Standards. All students are expected to achieve the content of the biology standards.

Required Materials:

• Science Notebook (3 ring binder)

• Pencil/pen(blue or black)

• Notebook paper

• Modern Biology textbook

• Modern Biology workbook

• Spiral notebook or Journal

Grading Criteria:

Tests 30%

Labs/Projects 25%

Quizzes 20%

Homework 15%

Notebook 10%

Quarter Exams (1st & 2nd ) 10% (CALCULATED SEPARATELY)
