We held a virtual meeting on Zoom due to social gathering restrictions.TREASURER’S REPORT (Amanda Lupino) Opening Balance $30,022.23. Closing Balance $31,847.73 Approved by Jacky Stonehouse & Kerry Jordan.CORRESPONDENCE & SUNSHINE (Erin Gulmy) Mrs. Portanova thanked the PTO for the generous gift card. Mrs.Zaku thanked the PTO for her generous gift and for the thoughtful teacher appreciation gift card and t-shirt.Many families thanked the PTO for their child’s gift certificate to the Chocolate MITTEE REPORTS (Samantha Ricart)Box Tops (Krista Michael) Box tops generated $117.50 Please submit receipts since we can’t hand in the actual box top to school.Cherrydale Multi Catalog Fundraiser Samantha Ricart, Jessica Pichardo & Brianna Hoar) All merchandise was delivered and handed out on December 17th. We made a profit of $970. Please submit any pictures of your child on zoom class, birthday trains, and Halloween. Teachers if you have any pictures of your class please submit those also. 5th grade parents you will receive a free yearbook from the PTO for your child. All yearbook orders are due at the end of the month. Kaitlin Emery will post a how to do page via facebook for you to reference.Tricky Tray (Amanda Lupino & Samantha Ricart) We are still planning on having our annual tricky tray. We are looking at pushing this out to May/June. We are working with West Mount to see what is available. Also we will be setting up a poll to see the preference or virtual or in person.BOARD OF EDUCATION (Abby Goff) N/APRINCIPAL’S REPORT (Mr. Pisacane) Happy Belated Holidays to all.Thank you to the PTO for continuing to be creative with PTO fundraisers and creating a little normalcy in our lives. Teachers and students loved the Santa video, it was a huge hit.Mr. Spirto sent a letter out today about going back to hybrid learning. Monday January 11th is the deadline to hand in forms if you want to change to remote or hybrid learning. Kim Ponte retired on December 1st. We are sad to see her go, she was an amazing teacher and person. We wish her the very best. Jenny Charles was hired as her replacement and is doing a great job. Congratulations to Mrs. Jackie Drexler for winning teacher of the year award. Jackie is such a dedicated teacher, she is loved by her students and the staff. Jackie is one of the happiest people I know and I am extremely happy to have her on the Roosevelt staff. Congratulations again Mrs. Drexler.Parents please follow protocol when it comes to contacting your child's teacher. Please do not pop into your child’s zoom classes, this is very distracting for the teacher and students. If you need to speak to your teacher please email them or call the school. OLD BUSINESSShopRite (Amanda Lupino) We have been selling a lot of shoprite cards. If you are interested in purchasing a shoprite gift card please send an email to roospto50@ and Amanda will be able to help you out.Snow Much Fun Cupcake Fundraiser (Kelly Parasi) We placed the cupcakes through Baking Grace. We sold 336 cupcakes and made a profit of $350. Thank you to everyone who helped deliver cupcakes to Roosevelt families.Chocolate Box Gift Certificates - The PTO wanted to do something for the Roosevelt kids since they did not have a Santa visit or Holiday party. A lot of work went into getting the gift certificates out. There have been significant delays with the mail so please be patient. Also the gift certificates are arriving in a Hawthorne Public School envelope addressed first to the parent then the child. We will be using the Chocolate Box for our Spring Candy Sale and wanted to get everyone familiar with Kim (the owner) and the store.NEW BUSINESSI’ve Got a “Crust” On You Pizza Kits (Kelly Parasi) - DIY Pizza Kits can be ordered from January 25th to February 5th. Each Kit will be $10 and you can Venmo your money to Roospto50@ or can drop a check/cash to Kelly. All kits will need to be picked up at school on February 11th. All proceeds that we make on this fundraiser will be donated to the Vigilanti family.
