Black History 2Spring Semester/Mr. Cook New Paltz High School Welcome to Black History 2! Thanks for the opportunity to learn with you this coming semester, I am really excited to be able to grow as a teacher and help you grow as a student. This course is a 20 week course that begins with the coming together of the “Old World” and the “New” (1492) and concludes in the 21st Century. The focus of this course will be primarily the construction of race and its subsequent impact on race relations in American History. Of course the primary discipline that we will use to examine the topics will be History, but Sociology and some Anthropology will also be employed to explore some of the topics.
