Toys in TransitionJack in the Box: The concessions stand is boxed in to create a big wind up box. An actor is waiting inside the box to pop up to scare people. A boombox is placed inside the box with a creepy carnival song playing on loop. The lid is left up and constructed so, but a piece of scrim masks the actor waiting inside. There is a cut in the middle of the scrim so that the actor may appear. The actor is dressed in a ripped and worn out clown costume, with smeared makeup. Once the actor appears, he/she may not do anything but laugh maniacally. Invisible Rocking Horse: There is a rocking horse in the corner that seems to be rocking by itself. The rocking horse may be a plastic or wooden horse. The eyes must be gouged out or blacked out. There are scratch marks, red or black on the body of the horse. There is a rigging and a hidden space for a technician to pull the horse so it keeps rocking. The rigging consists of fishing line tied to the front of the horse to pull periodically. Dolls Play Pen: Two actors/actresses are dressed up as life sized dolls. Again, the makeup is smeared and the costumes are worn out and torn. The dolls are seated in a sea of dismembered dolls. Each doll has something missing; an arm, a leg, a head. The extra limbs are also scattered amongst them. The life-size dolls play with the dismembered dolls and occasionally interact with the guests waiting in line. Building Blocks and Clown: Akin to its toy siblings, the clown has worn and tattered clothing with smeared makeup. There is a frown painted on one side of its mouth, and the other is a grin. The clown is stacking different large 3x3 building blocks and spelling various messages with them like “scare” or “help” or “smile” or “scream”. Etc. The building blocks are worn down in the corners like this has been a routine that the clown cannot break out of. General atmosphere: There is a haze in the room. Perhaps there is some dry ice coming out from behind the rocking horse. Strains of the Jack in the Box music fill the room. There is only direct light on each attraction, but generally the room is low lit.
