Clinical Activities
Perform more than 450 major anterior segment procedures/year. These include state of the art cataract surgery, combined cataract extraction and glaucoma filtering procedures, triple procedures (corneal transplantation, cataract extraction and intraocular lens placement), full and partial thickness corneal transplantation, secondary implantation of intraocular lenses, pupiloplasty, and pterygium surgery.
The first to use fibrin glue during pterygium excision in Maryland, the first to perform corneal keratoprosthesis surgery in Maryland, and the first to perform quick chop cataract surgery at the University of Maryland.
Perform more than 50 laser procedures/year including laser refractive surgery and YAG capsulotomy.
In addition, I see approximately 5,000 patients per year. These include patients with anterior segment diseases (such as corneal ulcers, keratoconus, atopy, etc.) cataracts, and uveitis.
Introduced immunosuppressive therapy in the management of uveitis at the University of Maryland.
