We are quite limited at the moment with appropriate machinery to establish a good smooth surface, and this is something we are working on for the future for our outdoor rink!We appreciate volunteers to take initiative to help out when you can, and more importantly we appreciate your understanding, we are trying our very best to get a safe skating surface established! We are hoping to post skating and lighting schedule next week ? IMPORTANT NOTE!PARENTS ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR CHILD/CHILDREN WHO ARE USING THE RINK, IT IS NOT A SUPERVISED AREA SO PLEASE ENSURE YOUR CHILD/CHILDREN ARE PROPERLY EQUIPPED TO BE ON THE ICE AT ALL TIMES!With thanks,Kerry Andrews, Manager, Sports & Recreation00RINK SURFACE - PLEASE BE CAREFUL!With much thanks to our Pikwakanagan Fire Department for flooding, and to Charles Caron for plowing services, to Ryan Peters for many hours of shovelling, and to any and all volunteers who come out maybe when no one is around we thank you….we want to caution all community members who are using the outdoor rink for skating, there are areas of the rink that are quite uneven yet and we hope with additional floods will begin to even out!As you may or may not be aware an outdoor rink is huge task to undertake, weather plays the biggest role in establishing a good skateable surface and we sure have been battling to get a good surface on the rink for all to use!
