Fluid losses in HHS are estimated to be between 100 -220 ml/kg (6 -13 liters in a 60 kg person) with Na+ loss (300 -780 mmol), K+ loss (240 -360 mmol/L) and Cl- loss (300 -900mmol) The aim of treatment should be to replace approximately 50% of estimated fluid loss within the first 12 hours and the remainder in the following 12 hours ................
