NEW JUNIORS PLAYERS INFORMATION FOR SEASON 2017

Welcome to Rugby season 2017! Western Districts Rugby Football Club Inc. is a not-for-profit community Club. We provide boys & girls the opportunity to learn the skills and enjoyment of rugby. We play in the Brisbane Junior Rugby Union (BJRU) competition (Western Region for U6-U9 & Brisbane region for U10-U17). INFORMATION/COMMUNICATION LINKS

AGE ELIGIBILITY Age group is determined according to the age of the player in a calendar year. For instance, if a player turns 8 in 2017, he/she will be deemed an Under 8 player. Players may play up one year only, that is, an Under 8 player can play in the Under 9 competition. There are no other exceptions. VOLUNTEERING All teams must provide a Coach, a Manage and a Field Marshall. Teams in under 6 to 9 must provide a Referee. Coaches, Managers, Field Marshalls & Referees are volunteers. All Coaches and Referees must be accredited. There are many Courses available for Accreditation. The Club will assist you with registering for a course and will pay all the costs. Junior sport cannot operate without our army of volunteers, so we ask you to help the kids and the Club where ever you can. Volunteering is both enjoyable and rewarding. Please help by emailing admin@.au REGISTRATION & PAYMENTS All registrations are now done via On-Line only and payments via credit/debit card only. Go to our web-page under tab "Junior Rugby" and "Register now for 2017". Registration Fees for Under 6 and 7 is $320. Under 8 to under 12 $335. Under 13 & 14 is $320. Under 15, 16, 17 play half seasons for $180. The Registration Fee covers the player Insurance, QRU Levy, ARU Levy, Medics, Referees from U11-U17, use of jersey and equipment and social membership. Each player will be provided a Training Shirt, Water Bottle, Sticker, Team Photo, Trophy, Free rides at the Break up Party. Discounts for families with 2 players $70, 3 players $170, 4 players $300. The Qld Gov't can assist some families with $150 vouchers for sporting fees. Please see our web-page or email us for details. After you have registered online please collect your training shirt, sticker, water bottle on Sunday 12th Feb (11am-5pm) or at the first training night. GIRLS RUGBY Again this year we will be running 3 seasons of U14, U16, U18 of Girls Sevens Rugby. The initial cost is $180 per player. (which covers levy and insurance) and $70 for each additional season. Players will need to buy shorts and socks This year we are also expecting to cater for U8, U10, U12 Girls Sevens Rugby. If you are interested in U8, U10, U12 Girls Rugby please contact us via email admin@.au and register your interest. TRAINING TIMES ? Changed for 2017 The first Training Night is Friday 24th Feb (U6-U12) at Wests. U13 to U17 will be combined teams from Wests, Kenmore and Taylor Bridge. Generally Under 6-9 train 4.45-5.45pm on Friday nights, and under 10 & 11 train 5.45-6.45pm, under 12 & 13's from 6.45-7.45pm. Under 14,15 will be training on Wednesday at Kenmore from 6pm. U16, U17 will train at Wests. Grading for U12 will commence on Friday 24th February. Girls U14, U16, U18 will train on Tuesday or Wed (TBC). Times may vary depending on coach and field availability. For safety reasons, all players must have a responsible adult/parent/guardian present at training. Food, Drinks are all available on Friday nights and all family members are welcome to come along and enjoy the start of the week-end at the Club. GEAR AND MERCHANDISE ? All players must wear club socks, club shorts. They are on sale at the club, Shorts cost $30 and Socks $15 ? All Jerseys are the responsibility of each team Manager and they must be returned at the end of the season.

With the appointment of Receivers at the major garment supplier BLK, jerseys are NOT to be given to players for the season or at the end of the season. ALL JERSEYS ARE NOW OWNED BY THE CLUB AND THE MANAGERS MUST RETURN FULL SETS AT THE END OF THE SEASON. ? All players are to wear a mouth guard ? available at chemists, dentists or fitted at the Club in March. ? All players must have a water bottle at training and games (filled with water). ? Players in Under 6 to Under 9 play in sports shoes (joggers/runners), molded football boots or blades. No steel boot tags are permitted. (Boots are available at the Club for sale) ? Players in Under 10 and above play in conventional football boots with tags no longer than 18mm. ? Referees may check boots to ensure no sharp edges exist. ? Headgear (if worn) must bear the "IRB Approval" label. (Headgear is available at the Club for sale) ? Also parents should ensure that players clothes and equipment is marked with their name.

PUPPY PACK On Friday night from 5.00 to 6.00pm we invite families with 3 to 5 year olds to join our "Puppy Pack". Puppy Pack will assist the younger kid's introduction to Wests. We aim to develop ball skills, promote fun and create friendships. The cost is $150 for the season. This includes Training Shirt, Water Bottle, Sticker, Trophy or Medal, and rides at the Break up Party.

TEAMS DRAFT teams will be posted on the club Notice board (or on the web-site) on or before the first training night or be advised by email. These draft teams may change. Teams from Under 12 to Under 17 will be graded.

CODE OF CONDUCT All players, coaches, officials, parents/guardians, spectators or any other Club affiliate is bound by the Code of Conduct, and shall not at anytime act in a manner detrimental towards the game or spirit of Rugby Union. Penalties apply for anyone breaking these rules. See Section 3.3 of the BJRU rules their website.

Sponsorship can be via Team Jerseys, Precinct Signage, Equipment, Wed-page, Newsletters, Social Function, Presentation night and many more. Join in with some of our high valued sponsors for 2015.
