After “unloading” O2 to the cells, the PO2 of venous blood is down to 40 mm Hg; It remains at this level until O2 is loaded to the blood again in the lungs; interestingly, while loading of oxygen in the lung increases O2 saturation to ~ 100%, when it unloads O2 to the cells, the oxygen saturation drops only to 75… ................
