Introduction:
In the quest to improve students’ comprehension of content reading materials, the next step is to design a set of questions and activities that will lead the students through the surface level of understanding and into the deeper levels of understanding. The idea is to provide a scaffolding of opportunities so that the students have a variety of chances to read, reflect, analyze, organize, internalize, and draw conclusions.
Through this activity, you will be able to:
1. Describe the 6 levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy,
2. Classify questions and objectives according to the Bloom’s Taxonomy levels,
3. Write Bloom’s Taxonomy questions, and
4. Design and sequence activities according to the Bloom’s Taxonomy Levels.
Task:
You will be developing a set of questions and/or activities for each level of Bloom’s Taxonomy. To complete this activity, you will need to:
1. Complete this webquest.
2. Research Bloom’s Taxonomy on-line.
3. Research a variety of lesson plans and on-line activities as guides and examples to develop your activities.
4. Use your selected topic and topic objectives to develop a question and an activity for each of the 6 levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy.
