WINTER DAY ON THE SLOCAN VALLEY RAIL TRAIL!

This year the annual Day on the Trail will be taking place on Sunday, January15th from 11:00 – 2:00 pm. The crew from the Slocan Valley Heritage Trail Society (SVHTS) will again be setting up at the Winlaw Station and Trailhead. Like last year they will be hosting the very popular ski waxing demo, for a 10$ donation they may even wax your skis! As well there will be some individual and group lessons being offered. If conditions allow, a track may be set up around the Winlaw School field for some fun races and games. Before and after your ski there will be a bonfire as well as refreshments being offered

for purchase by trail supporters from Winlaw School. It will

be a great time to catch up on what’s been happening on

the Rail Trail. A new web site has been launched, so please

take the time to check it out. We now offer PayPal so folks

can donate to help us with some of our on-going expenses.

Our Trail Report page comes complete with weather updates.

You’ll find a link to our Facebook page and our latest posts

can now be found on the site as well. We also now have a

page for artisans in our community, and there’s room for

more should you know any one who might want to join us.

The Winlaw Trailhead can be reached from highway 6 in the

Slocan Valley. Watch for the large directional signs located

on the highway. For more information contact the SVHTS

at 1-888-683-SVRT They can also be found on Facebook or

on their new website: slocanvalleyrailtrail.ca

The relationships between school districts, community organizations and local governments are critical in helping to ensure the success of students across rural B.C. With this goal in mind we encourage participation in an on-line discussion forum at: Open until January 31, 2017, at 4:00 pm.
