News from the Principal

Dear Lowell Families,

Welcome back! I hope your summer break was full of adventure. I am excited for students to arrive as we start the 2021-2022 school year in the coming weeks. I would like to share some important information as you prepare for the new school year.

Staff Update I would like to share an update and welcome the new members of our Lowell teaching staff. Stevie Vitulli will be teaching our 3/4 combo classroom, joining Mrs. Eichelberger and Mrs. Wickman to complete the 3/4 team. Erika Griffin will be joining Mrs. Ball to complete our kindergarten team. Ms. Griffin comes to Lowell with over 10 years of kindergarten experience, having taught part time kindergarten most recently at Shadow Hills Elementary. Amy Narayan will be our new ERR Teacher. Mrs. Narayan comes to Lowell with over 20 years of special education experience, having taught in a number of international schools during her career. Audrey Gabrielli will be serving as our new GATE facilitator. Mrs. Gabrielli has taught at the elementary and junior high level as well as served as an outdoor educator during her career. Austin Roth will be our new PE Teacher, working Tuesday and Thursday mornings at Lowell. Austin is a first year teacher, and is eager to begin his career at Lowell! I would like to welcome our new support staff and welcome back returning staff from BOS. Becky Woodland will be our new Social Worker. Ms. Woodland is currently a social worker in the Boise School District, and is excited to add the Lowell community to the list of schools she serves. Kim Fuisting, Librarian (Returning from BOS). Class Placements Student class placements will be visible in Infinite Campus on August 10. Please call the office if you are unable to see your child's placement.

Communication In order to make sure we have your most current contact information, please take a few minutes to update your Infinite Campus account. Additionally, a 1 to 1 Device Responsible Use Agreement and Permission Form, non refundable damage deposit, and health information will need to be collected. Directions are below: Parent Annual Infinite Campus Update Instructions

1. Log into your Parent Portal account. If you do not know your username and password, please contact the Registrar or Administrative Assistant at your student's school for help.

2. Once logged in, click on `More' on the Index, then on `Annual Update'. a. This will open a new tab listing the student's information. Click `Begin'

3. Verify your address, contact information and emergency contacts. 4. Lastly, verify all of the information for your student including your technology authorizations.

a. 1 to 1 Device Responsible Use Agreement and Permission Form b. 1 to 1 Device Responsible Use and Non-Refundable Damage Deposit (optional) 5. Once all is saved successfully, submit.

Food and Nutrition Meals will be free again for the 2021-2022 school year. Breakfast will be served from 8:45-9:10 each morning for students who would like to eat in the cafeteria before school.

Emergency Response Plan Please see Lowell's Emergency Response Plan. While I hope we never have a need to follow it, I need to ensure all families understand the process.

Covid-19 Response Plan I will be sharing our updated plan before school begins. Please stay tuned.

Annual Notification Regarding Public Release of Student Directory Information The Boise School District complies with federal law (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) as it relates to the release of student directory information to the public. To learn more, visit , and go to Parents & Patrons > Parent Information > FERPA Form. You may also pick up a FERPA form at your school, or call the Clerk of the Board at 854-4123 to obtain a copy of the FERPA form.
