Herbal Remedy for Valley Fever
This was used for a 65 lb dog; please adjust dosage up or down according to your dog’s weight. Administer twice daily mixed with food.
To help boost and support the immune system:
1 Tsp chopped garlic (can be bought already chopped in a jar)
2-3 Tsp brewer’s yeast (for the B vitamins)
50-100 IU vitamin E
1-2 tsp cod liver oil (source of vitamins A and D)
2 Tsp bone meal (NOT the type for use on gardens)
2500mg vitamin C (granular)
3 tablets IMM-C or UNA DE GATO
To kill the valley fever spore:
4 capsules yucca root
2 capsules caprylic acid combination
4 capsules pau d’arco or ½ tsp extract
2 capsules licorice root (for energy and cortisone production)
3 capsules ALJ (to support and cleanse the lungs)
2-3 tsp liquid chlorophyll added to the drinking water daily (supports intestines as the body detoxifies)
Another treatment option is The Missing Link brand supplement that can be sprinkled over the dog’s food daily.
Please note that these are NOT medications, and are only meant to aid the immune system. Fluconazole is the recommended medication to slow spore development (although some dogs may have side effects from this medication).
