e deadline passed, and Charles still didn't have his speech ready. He walked to Ms. Lind's office to apologize. Ms. Lind looked up from her desk. "How's the speech?" she asked. At that moment Charles knew that he had to tell her the truth. Ms. Lind said she would help him write the speech if he would stay after school. Charles breathed a sigh of relief and thanked her. e next day, the school auditorium roared with laughter while Charles gave his speech.
