CIRCULAR LETTER NO. 1938
To All Members and Subscribers of the Bureau:
MASSACHUSETTS FINANCIAL DATA REPORTING APPLICATION (MAFDRA)
The Workers' Compensation Rating & Inspection Bureau of Massachusetts is pleased to announce the Massachusetts Financial Data Reporting Application (MAFDRA). The MAFDRA is an on-line reporting application designed to improve the timeliness and quality of data submissions. Carriers will be required to create, edit and submit most calls due in 2004, for reporting year end data valued as of 12/31/03 using the MAFDRA. A complete listing of required submission and editing types will be outlined on the 2003 Acknowledgement form which is included in the Massachusetts Financial Call Package.
An interactive demo of the MAFDRA is now available on the Bureau's website. This interactive demo is being provided to carriers as a helpful tool in understanding and navigating through this new on-line reporting application. The demo has preloaded data designed to simulate edit failures. Guidelines and exercises for creating calls, and running edits are included within the MAFDRA Demo - Overview document.
A MAFDRA User's Guide detailing all functions of the MAFDRA is also available on the website. This guide should be consulted along with the Overview document when using the Interactive Demo.
A link to the Interactive Demo, Overview document, and User's Guide is located on the Bureau's website at , within the Data Reporting Section and on the Financial Data Reporting page.
Further training on the MAFDRA will be provided through in-house seminars and/or WebEx meetings in January of 2004 for all interested data reporters. An announcement will be sent out with specif ic dates and times of the training sessions after the Division of Insurance approves necessary changes to the financial data calls and Massachusetts Statistical Plan.
