Biography for IIE North Central Region Leadership Team (Dec 2008)

Ben Fong is an Assistant Project Manager at Celerant Consulting, Inc. He received his MSME and PhD in ISE from Virginia Tech and his BSME from UT Arlington. He has 14 years of industrial and consulting experiences in industrial control solutions, heavy construction equipment, automotive, fiber optics and engineered lumber. His research interests include control strategy to design multistage and supply chain system dynamics. He is currently the IIE RVP of North Central Region and the IIE Industrial Advisory Board member. He is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and holds his P.E. license in the state of Virginia and is an ASQ-CQE.

Randy Wahlstrom is a Senior Facilities Engineer at Boston Scientific in Maple Grove, MN. He received his BS in Industrial Engineering & Management from NDSU in Fargo, ND. He also received his Masters of Engineering Management from Washington State University and his MBA from Southwest Minnesota State University. Randy has over 19 years of experience in various roles relating to Industrial engineering including: lean manufacturing, capacity & demand planning, energy research, process improvement, facilities design & space planning. He is currently the ARVP of North Central Region and the Past President of Twin Cities Chapter 38.

Sushma Sripada is the AVPSD for IIE North Central Region. Sushma has a Bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering from India and she did her Master’s in IE at Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS. She is working as a Continuous Improvement Supervisor at Helwig Carbon Products, Inc. in Milwaukee, WI and she has been working at Helwig for 3 years.

Bonnie Thiede is the Past-RVP of the North Central Region. She has an IE degree from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA. She has worked for John Deere for 32 years (starting as a child :). Bonnie has served in many roles on the board of Mississippi Valley Chapter 46, and at a national level as Chair of the Presidential Membership Commission (2004), Assistant SVP of Chapter Networking (2005-2006) and RVP Region 6 (2006).
