1 T baking powder. ½ t salt. ¼ C shortening. 2/3 to 3/4 C buttermilk. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Using a pastry blender cut in shortening until mixture resembles small peas. Add buttermilk, stirring gently with fork until soft dough forms. Turn dough out onto lightly floured board. ................
