2017-2018 DISTRICT GOALS To improve student achievement in English Language Arts (ELA) through evaluation of the instructional program and curriculum at the City of Burlington Public Schools K-12. To improve student achievement in Mathematics through evaluation of the instructional program and curriculum at the City of Burlington Public Schools K-12. To reduce the percentage of students who are chronically absent as defined as absent from school 10% of the number of days school is in session. Develop a plan to focus attention on school/community relations and family engagement based on research of the best practices for building and sustaining positive relationships between the school and students, parents, and community.
