Principal's CornerAs we get closer to re-opening campus, I want to make you aware of some upcoming information meetings.?Student Return to Campus Required Meeting – October 7th?12:15-12:45 p.m.This meeting is for all students who have selected to return to campus for face-to-face instruction.? We will review expectations, entrance locations and the schedule.? A link will be available on the Lamar website for students to join the meeting.?The Next Phase of Reopening for Parents – October 7th, 5:30 p.m.As part of the PTO General Meeting on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, I will review the latest information on the next phase of re-opening schools.? A link will be provided on the Lamar ?website on Wednesday for parents to use to join the meeting.?I have received a few questions today about the anticipated number of students who are choosing to return to campus.? ?Currently, about 35% have let us know their student would like to return to campus, with another 10% providing no response.? We are continuing to reach out to families we have not heard from to make sure we have an accurate number.? We anticipate approximately 1,300 students will return to campus, or just around 45% percent of students.? This will mean that we will be using a hybrid model, with students choosing in-person being identified in the red group (last name A-L) or the blue group (last name M-Z).? Some students will be identified as priority students who will be offered the on-campus option every day – students identified as special education, students supported through 504, students identified as Limited English Proficient, and students who have been identified as economically disadvantaged.? If your child falls into one of these groups, and you have selected in-person learning and you would like for your child to be in-person every day, please contact one of the program administrators listed below.? Please note, this will put your child in contact with two different groups of students unless your child is in a self-contained, special education setting.? This may increase the likelihood of potential exposure and the requirement to self-quarantine.?Special Education: Carol Rivers?criversi@504: Stephanie Walton?swalton@Limited English Proficient: Raymond Cain?rcain@Economically Disadvantaged: Aida Tello?atello@?So how would this work??Monday, October 19Red A-DayOn Campus: In-Person A-L (red group), Priority StudentsRemote Virtual: In-Person M-Z (blue group), Remote Virtual Students?Tuesday, October 20Red B-DayOn Campus: In-Person A-L (red group), Priority StudentsRemote Virtual: In-Person M-Z (blue group), Remote Virtual Students??Wednesday, October 21Teacher Service Day - No Students??Thursday, October 22Blue A-DayOn Campus: In-Person M-Z (blue group), Priority StudentsRemote Virtual: In-Person A-L (red group), Remote Virtual Students??Friday, October 23Blue B-DayOn Campus: In-Person M-Z (blue group), Priority StudentsRemote Virtual: In-Person A-L (red group), Remote Virtual Students??Monday, October 26Red A-DayOn Campus: In-Person A-L (red group), Priority StudentsRemote Virtual: In-Person M-Z (blue group), Remote Virtual Students??Tuesday, October 27Red B-DayOn Campus: In-Person A-L (red group), Priority StudentsRemote Virtual: In-Person M-Z (blue group), Remote Virtual Students??Wednesday, October 28Blue A-DayOn Campus: In-Person M-Z (blue group), Priority StudentsRemote Virtual: In-Person A-L (red group), Remote Virtual StudentsHighlighted EventsThurs.
